September 6, 2010, 12:46 PM

Hewlett-Packard’s (NYSE: HPQ) Ex CEO Mark Hurd, who had resigned last month from the company during allegations of sexual harassment, is currently in negotiations with Oracle  (Nasdaq: ORCL) to join the company as a top executive, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

In the report of the Wall Street Journal  “people familiar with the matter” explained there was no definite time-line and talks were still going on. Oracle’s board would have to agree to the decision before Mark Hurd could be hired.

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison criticized the HP’s board of directors for firing in Hurd accusing HP of “cowardly corporate political correctness.”

Larry Ellison sent a letter to the New York Times in Early August calling HP’s move “the worst personnel decision since the idiots on the Apple board fired Steve Jobs”.
